Darla was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She moved to the states with her family in 2004, and has resided in Colorado since then. After living in Summit County, she moved to Kremmling in 2017 in order to experience a smaller community and the close-knit culture that comes with living in a small town. She loves cooking, music, horseback riding, and biking with her family! She has also always enjoyed working with children, ever since her first job at the age of 15 where she watched kids while their parents participated in English language classes. Darla joined Mountain Family Center in 2018 as the CATCH Coordinator in Kremmling. CATCH is an after-school physical activity and nutrition education program for elementary-aged children (grades K–5), and Darla loved working with the 60+ kids who participated in the program! She has also worked in the food pantry and thrift store, and acts as the Spanish language interpreter for clients who visit the Kremmling and Granby locations.

Darla has three children: Jason, Genesis, and Abraham, and one dog, Coco. Darla loves to help every single customer, no matter what their language is, or why they are coming for assistance. She helps regular clients feel at home, and welcomes new clients who want to learn more about what MFC offers. She currently works at the Kremmling Food Pantry on Tuesday and Thursday. She is excited to be part of an organization that helps families grow together.
