Alex is Mountain Family Center’s “Family Support Services Manager.” She was born and raised in Grand County. After graduating high school, she moved to Fort Collins to attend CSU and pursue a degree in Social Work as well as Human Development and Family Studies. After 10 years she decided it was time to move back home to be closer to family. After graduating from CSU, Alex worked at an affordable housing nonprofit in Fort Collins where she started as the receptionist and worked her way up to eventually fill the Director of Resident Services position. In that roll, she worked with families in a variety of capacities including housing stability, rent assistance, community engagement planning, and resource referral. She also helped with grant writing. Alex worked at Mountain Family Center (with her mother, Terry Sidell) while on summer breaks in college and was excited to be back in a more permanent role. She is passionate about MFC’s mission and feels there is something so rewarding about working with families in the same community where she was raised. In the summers Alex enjoys hiking, camping and fishing in our beautiful county. During the winter she enjoys being a bit of a hermit and staying home to play in the snow by her house or watch football and build puzzles with her family.
