Joined MFC: 2024
Role at MFC: My role is helping the people of our community familiarize themselves with the language and I strive to make sure that they have what they need to be successful. My tittle is Translation and Language Learning Coordinator.
What are you previous educational, work or life experiences that relate to your role at MFC?
I’ve been living in Grand County since September of 2024. I came from Guanacaste, Costa Rica because my husband’s family are long time residents in the County. I love to teach, and worked with the deaf community of Costa Rica for 15 years helping many learn and understand sign language starting from the ground up, and I started teaching English as a second language in 2020.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy that I have the opportunity to teach and help others. I’ve always wanted to be more and Mountain Family Center has given me a great opportunity to give back to the community.
What do you like to do for fun, or what are your hobbies?
I like walking my dogs, I love to read, I like making macrame and spending time with my family and my goats.
