Taking Steps to End Al Cancer 2016
Taking Steps to End All Cancer was held on Sunday, September 25 and raised $67,000.00 with almost 300 participants! The money will go to Mountain Family Center (MFC) to directly assist in supporting local residents battling cancer.
MFC would like to thank Team Grand County: Gladys Howard, Judy and Sam Eberly, Barb Koenig, Sandi and Skip Parsons, Karen Raymond, Merrie Coolen, Sharon Peterson and their tireless team of volunteers whose passion and hard work continues to help others in the fight against cancer. Additionally, the event went off without a hitch thanks to MFC board members and Middle Park High School Volunteers.
So many people contributed to the success of this year’s event. A special thank you to Pancho & Lefty’s for raising $2,500 at their golf tournament as well as hosting the after party and race day activities. The Grand Lake Rotary assisted in holding a raffle for a beautiful quilt donated by Betty Brownson, Becky Lindamood, Merrie Coolen, Judy Eberly and Debbie Wehmeyer adding over $4,000 to the cancer fund. A brand new event, Views & Vistas, provided scenic views of our lakes all while raising funds to further support the overall event by adding another $3,696.
The valiant efforts of all contributors made this event a truly special one, with individuals and businesses coming together, to support our friends and loved ones through their struggle with cancer. In addition to all who gave with an open heart, MFC would like to recognize the event sponsors: Grand Lake Rotary, Western Riviera, Gentlemen’s Club of Grand Lake, Pancho & Lefty’s, American Legion Post 88, Sagebrush BBQ & Grill, The Spa Man, Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District, Trinity Church in the Pines, Middle Park Medical Center, Power World, Gateway Inn, Gifts Unlimited, Grand Lake Plumbing & Heating, RE/MAX Peak to Peak, Good to Go Portables and Mountainland Therapy.
