YOU CAN HELP!
Each and every day, someone in Grand County makes a difference in the lives of their friends and neighbors who are struggling.  The creativity in giving in this community is astounding!
  • At Halloween, Kerri Smith and Morgan Mallard dressed up and went house-to-house trick-or-treating for our food bank.
  • Young Caitlin and Emma decided to ask for food bank donations en lieu of gifts at their birthday parties.
  • The Grand County Sheriff's Department did a huge food drive raising two-and-a-half tons of food and funds to support the Mountain Family Center's Thanksgiving Project.
  • The Kern family brought the kids to the Center to help unload and load Thanksgiving Food Boxes.
  • Grand Lake Women's Club invites the Center's staff to do a presentation each year and provides food, warm winter wear, and funds for the Holiday Projects.
  • Rachel Born, Dave Patner, Layney Anderson, the Cavellos and many many more purchase groceries for the Center when they do their major shopping trips.
  • The Girl Scouts hold several food drives at City Market throughout the year.
  • Schools hold competitions to see which classes can raise the most food!
  • Penny drives for food are held at younger class levels.
  • Chambers, Libraries, County and Town Governments hold food drives during certain times of the year.
  • The Lariat Saloon hosts Taco-Sundays during football season to feed folks.  Donations are given to the Mountain Family Center to purchase food for our food banks.
  • Several churches recognize that Mountain Family Center is the perfect agency to support their local mission work.  Food drives, papergood drives, and funding keep Mountain Family Center's hunger relief program running during very difficult seasons.
  • Three Grand County long-time local residents send money to the Center every month to support their favorite programs:  Hunger Relief and Homeless Prevention.
  • Families who have lost loved ones have asked that monies be sent to the Center for specific programs en lieu of flowers.
  • A group of ladies asked their family and friends to donate money to the Center in their names rather than purchase each other gifts.
  • The Delicious Dishes Gals host a chicken and biscuit fundraiser dinner and auction every year in Grand Lake.
  • Julie and Doug Husa and friends cook hundreds of pounds of Cajun Food at the Fatter Saturday Party at the Lariat the third week of March.  All proceeds are then donated to Mountain Family Center's Homeless Prevention and Utility Assistance Programs.
  • Kelly Weimer brings her three daughters and friends to the Center to help fill food boxes. The girls are amazed at how many people they can feed in a short amount of time!
  • During the Holiday Season, many folks host parties that include bringing a wrapped toy to be donated to the Mountain Family Center's Toy Box!
  • Jim, Diane, Joe, Naomi, Julie, Dale and others come to the Center the first Wednesday of each month to help unload the Food Bank delivery truck and re-stock the shelves of our pantries!
